If you've ever dreamed of floating through the air with confidence, Aerial Sling might be your perfect match. Also known as Aerial Hammock, Sling uses a soft loop of aerial fabric to support your body while you learn beautiful poses, flowing transitions, inversions, spins, and drops—all without needing to climb high into the air.

At Altitude, our beginner-friendly Aerial Sling classes are designed for students of all fitness levels. Whether you're looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or simply try something completely different, Sling offers an exciting full-body workout that's equal parts empowering and fun.

Because the hammock supports your body throughout many skills, students often discover they can accomplish movements much sooner than they expected—making Aerial Sling one of the most confidence-building ways to begin your aerial journey.

Common Beginner Worries

Maybe you're wondering...

"Do I have to be strong?"

No! Strength comes with practice, and the hammock provides support while you build it.

"Is Sling easier than Silks?"

Not necessarily easier—just different. Sling offers more support in many skills, allowing students to experience inversions, poses, and flowing sequences sooner.

"Can complete beginners take this class?"

Absolutely! No previous aerial, gymnastics, dance, or fitness experience is required.

"What if I don't like being upside down?"

That's perfectly okay! You'll always progress at your own pace, and there are plenty of exciting skills to learn before inversions.

At Altitude, we believe learning aerial should feel exciting—not intimidating.
Our progressive curriculum allows beginners to safely build confidence one skill at a time, while our supportive instructors help celebrate every milestone along the way.

Altitude Insider Tip #8

"Beautiful aerial isn't about moving fast—it's about moving with control. Slow, intentional movement almost always looks more impressive than rushing from trick to trick."
