If you love climbing, building incredible strength, and mastering skills that look straight out of the circus, Aerial Rope—also known as Corde Lisse—may be your next aerial adventure.
Unlike aerial silks or sling, Rope uses a single suspended rope with no fabric wraps or hammock for support. Every climb, pose, and transition relies on technique, strength, and control, making it one of the most athletic aerial disciplines.
At Altitude, our Aerial Rope classes are designed for students with previous aerial experience who are ready to challenge themselves in an exciting new way.

Common Beginner Worries
You're Probably Wondering...
"Is Aerial Rope harder than Silks?"
Many students find Rope more physically demanding because there isn't fabric to wrap around your body for support. However, strong technique is just as important as strength, and our instructors will help you develop both.
"Can beginners take Rope?"
We generally recommend previous aerial experience before beginning Rope. If you're new to aerial arts, we suggest starting with Aerial Silks or Aerial Sling to build foundational skills.
"What's the difference between Rope and Silks?"
While both involve climbing, Silks uses two lengths of fabric that can wrap around your body for support. Rope uses a single rope, requiring different techniques and emphasizing strength, efficiency, and control.
Did You Know?
"Corde Lisse" is the traditional French name for Aerial Rope and translates simply to "smooth rope." It has been a staple of circus performance for generations and remains one of the purest tests of aerial strength and technique.
At Altitude, our instructors help students safely transition into Rope by building on the aerial foundations they've already developed.
Whether your goal is expanding your circus skills, preparing for performance, or simply taking on a new challenge, you'll find experienced coaching and a supportive community ready to help you succeed.
